voxeljet was founded on May 5, 1999
Our company was established with the goal of developing new generative processes for the production of casting and plastics components using 3D printing. In the beginning, operations are launched with four employees at the Technical University of Munich. Shortly afterwards the headquarters in Augsburg are established.
voxeljet's roots reach back to the year 1995 with the first successful dosing of UV-resins. In the context of a "hidden" project, initial 3D-printing tests are performed at the Technical University of Munich. In 1996, the project participates in the 1st Munich Business plan contest and in 1998 the first patent is granted. The first sand molds are printed at the University in 1998.
