Corporate vision
The move to digital production will be at least as important for our company in the coming years as the introduction of the new information technologies was in the past. Thanks to the unique opportunities that voxeljet technology already offers today, manufacturers can gain enormous competitive advantages and significantly lower production costs.
As a further advantage, generative manufacturing processes offer unprecedented flexibility in production. They turn batch sizes of single parts into reality; a reality that can be achieved easily, quickly and economically. voxeljet's managing director, Dr. Ingo Ederer, is intrigued by the unlimited possibilities.
"The breakthrough in this technology is now in full swing and will revolutionise production over the long term. We will experience on-demand manufacturing of products with a wide range of configuration options."

Dr. Ederer uses the example of a mass-market product--the mobile phone--to illustrate what production will look like in the future. "In twenty years or so, mobiles will be produced in an integrated process. That is, the electronics, display and housing will be generated by 3D printing. From a technological point of view, voxeljet is already close to achieving this vision. The complex assembly steps in classic production processes will thus become obsolete. Production will be fast, flexible and cost-effective. And manufacturing will return to Germany, since digital technology will replace assembly in low-wage countries."
Today, voxeljet technology already delivers solutions for digital production that have a long track record of success. A young, motivated team is hard at work on further establishing the Augsburg-based high-tech foundry as a pioneer of digital production with a global leadership role.
