Reverse engineering

From the pump industry to owners of classic cars—more and more spare parts are represented without tools by using modern measuring technology combined with 3D printing. These processes offer clear economical advantages, since conventional manufacturing of individual parts, in particular, often takes too long and is too expensive. Measuring arms and scanning technology are used to first reconstruct a digital copy when no technical drawings or CAD data is available.

The result is a digital 3D data set, which offers a basis for 3D printing that is true to the original.

Spare parts can be reproduced quickly and economically by combining scanning and printing technologies—and valuable classic cars or old instruments can be repaired with new parts.
